The money goes towards RUNNING THE EVENT for the competitors without taking money from the remainder of AKSA members. If you look around at other National sporting events you will find the cost quite reasonable as it includes competitor packs with beneifits. One of those benefits is that you get to compete on one of the best kitesurfing locations on the east coast and strut your stuff in front of the crowd and peers including a chance at the national title and prizes.

Hope to see you there and please check www.aksa.com.au for up to dae information on the event and soon to add the social calendar with details of the Hollywood night.

Cheers

Glen

Sir Rowdy
Just my opinion
Kiters get it things oh so good at competions.
Go to any other National Level sporting event and see what the entry costs are.
I have been to other sporting 'Nationals' and paid $450 entry fee.
You dont get competitor Packs
You dont get Breakfast supplied
You dont get a Free T shirt
You dont get a pick of the prize table
You might not even make it past the trials

Seems to me you need to put your hand up to run the Lennox comp next year.
This experience would answer so many of your questions.
Volunteer your services
Ash and Eric would love someone to give them a hand or to take over from them
The sport needs people like you

wow dude chill out, im not being negitive or anything i just had ppl ask me what thier money goes to and i had no idea where funds were allocated at this certain event so i thought i would ask........ just that i can remember unamed windsurfing comps in years past where it is hard to tell where all the money/prizes went, so i hardly think that it is unfair to question where the money is allocated.

p.s. for your infomation i have actually helped in organising comps and have seen how they are organised and run including the lennox comp, and hopefully one day i will be mature enough to be able to run a comp of my own, my hat goes off to ppl like ASH and ERIC they are great guys/friends of mine and i have grown up kiting and windsurfing with them both.
