Does anyone know if you can kite Heron Island. I'm heading up there in a few weeks... is it worth taking a kite?

I was there two weeks ago. The only time you could kite there is around the high tide, other than that it is not even knee deep. The reef stretchs out for 5 miles one side. The deep water would be scary as **** to kite, alot of nothing around you and heaps of sharks.
