I have had my kite repaired many times by Neil at Hold the line but never with the Kite Dr. Neils not available at the moment, so I am looking at the Kite Dr.

Without causing any bad mouthing about either repairer, has anybody not be happy with their repairs or any recommendations.

Cheers

i had the same problem 2 weeks ago. I tore my LE and normaly wouldnt dream of sending my kite to anyone but neil cos he is byfar the best!! but like you said he isnt in town at the moment (i think he is on holidays)

my second choice for getting my kite fixed is stuart bell. he is realy good with his matterials, workmanship and price but he hasnt had that much experience with kites so if it is a big or complicated job sometimes you need to tell him how you want it fixed. if you dont know the best way to fix it take it into SOS and get Andy to have a look at it and he can tell you the best way to get it fixed. stuart bell will pick the kite up from SOS and drop it back there when it is fixed. simple as

i have had to get more kites repaired over the years than i care to remember and have tried most of the kite repairers in perth. After a few bad experiences now i will only send my kite to neil at hold the line or stuart bell.

also i hear kaos69 from fetish kiteboards is handy with a sewing machine too

PS sorry for the SOS pimpping. if you know what you want done you can take it direct to stuart bell i dont have his contact details tho but give SOS a call and they can tell ya

good luck

Ive had kites repaired by both. They both do a great job.
BTW, if anyone was to respond negatively about their work on a public forum, would that not be bad mouthing? I doubt either of them are going to appreciate your post!

Hey Richswing

I suggest maybe you edit and change the topic title to..

" Alternative kite repairer required "

They offer a valueble service let us respect their knowledge to repair older & late model kites to the best of 'their' ability and our choice to freely try another without prejudice.

Hey Guys,

I could have worded this topic a bit better but my intention was to get feedback on the kite repairers around Perth, if the feedback was/is negative it can be in a constructive way and at the end of the day are we not customers and have the right to comment on the services we receive.

Like I said I usually use HTL but he is not available and wanted to get the best possible job done on my kite as they do cost alot to replace and would like it to last as long as possible while still looking as good as possible.

I am sorry if I have offended anybody, and if so they can turn my business away.

My apology.

Cheers

I have had kites repaired by both Neil (HTL) and Dean (Kite Dr) and have been very happy with the service from both of them.
Neil is on his well deserved annual Bali kitesurfing holiday and will be back soon, hopefully fresh and ready to look after our kites for another season.
However if I was you I would have no hesitation in giving the Kite Dr a call, I'm sure you will be more than happy with the quality his service.

Hi Guys,

Neil is away until the 10th of July to the best of my recollection. Dean also does a great job and it sort of depended upon where you live geographically as to who you would frequent. Dean is in the north and Neil .... well, sort of in the middle

Dean can do some work that Neil can't due to a heavier duty sewing machine I believe. I hear he sews harnesses and can do wetsuits as well as Neil will shy away from that kind of heavier work.

Give Dean a call or wait til Neil gets back. It'll be quite funny as I think there will be a pile of kites on Neils doorstep he'll need to move with a front end loader after his holiday.

Good stuff!

Don't worry guys,
we are taking very good care of Neil here in Bali.
He will be back more energetic then ever, ready to dig in the pile of kites you have there.
Bye Jankie

The problem isn't the quality of work it's that theres too many kites to fix and not enough people to fix them for the peanuts we pay.

Hi guys,

I had Neil fix my kite. Very Happy.
But, I live up north, so it is good to know there is a repairer up our way.
Lets look after these guys.

i have had a bad result from one and my mate went to the other an also got a bad result. other times i have had to really look closely to see the repair, all that can be said is they are not too flash at bladders and lines but the actual kite fixes are fine
