34, been kiting for over 8 years now and like some of the other guys said, I am carrying a few injuries (7 broken ribs, snapped Achilles tendon, torn medial meniscus, although only the knee was from kiting). Makes me hesitant to try anything too crazy, I love to boost and do front and back rolls though.

Seems like Im just a pup at 52 in a few weeks - converted from 20 yrs of windsurfing around 4 1/2 yrs ago.

Ive given up snow skiing as I got bored with that so now kite through winter (ok its a bit cold in July in Vic!)- although would like to get into snowboarding with snow kiting on my radar. Funny thing is I can see the snow whilst kiting on the lakes here in Gippsland on a clear day - how cool is that!!

Holy crap that was my first thought but then I thought nah, there are some windsurfers you never think will see the light.....

Glad to hear you are giving it a crack, if you thought windsurfing was addictive wait until you get up and going on the kite, you will be able to sell the van and buy a mini... Come on down, walk up the beach towards my place, plenty of room away from the crowds plus a great local crew to boot.

PS. Mick's son Glen has also just discovered the kite after an absence of 10 years and is learning with his 2 sons...
