I for one loooooove bars, and everything that comes with them. But I wouldn't love a bar where people hang and tell stories about their crashes, the kooks, giving reviews about the new gear, how bow kites practically fly themselves, how the concave on that new board pops 10 times higher than any other board ever manufactured, how this new kite is revolutionary, yada yada yada... Enough BS on the beaches already.. There's more to life than kitesurfing, don't get me wrong I LOOOVE it but I don't LIVE it. I love going out kiting but not a huge fan of the shallow BS going around on some of the beaches about this and that, where there are holes in the wind at melville, what kook did this, and so on... If you don't have anything solid and interresting to say, stfu:) So nooo... a bar dedicated to telling lies and spreading BS would not get my support.. sorry

loooove bars though

-looks down on my beer I just got from the fridge before I opened this thread again-

good point

BUT, at least here I don't have to pay and I can choose what BS I want to hear/read/participate in.. Ever wondered why I don't often join in on the "what kite should I buy" or "how do I do this and that" discussions? Because I think there are better things to discuss or argue about, hehe. Like everyday things! Like I said, love kiting, don't live it. Love bars but not neccisarily all the BS that comes with it sometimes

Compare with quote from a post Dave started himself:
"What a week its been down at Woodies offshore.. 4 days of hardcore kitesurfing and misc disaster on my side. Wednesday, lost a board and almost trashed/lost my kite. Thursday I did rip my kite and had to swim in with my board then drive down to the next beach and pick it up on the beach, ripped. Got it repaired for saturday, eager to be back out there, my leesh breaks, twice, and my kite flies out to sea..

After all I only lost my board, which was an old and cheap board so not the end of the world but still. Just wanna thank everyone who's made everything possible and helped me. Sci for checking on me stuck in the jetty with my kite, Susi for the effort of getting my kite in, Neil at Hold the Line Kites for doing such a terrific quick job on my kite, Paul at Choice for helping me getting the water out of LE and letting me demo eq (sorry I didn't come down today to get the Rev, I woke up at 2 with .20 alchol in my blood. Rain check!), The guys, Dan and the ones I don't know down at Woodies getting my kite and board in when my leash snapped and I had to swim again.. Thanks guys!

I took some great pictures too Im gonna post as soon as I get my broadband in my appartment sorted..

Happy New Years and Ill cya next year down there!

Dave"

Come off it Dave!! This is a post you started - sounds more like an acceptance speech for an award. What's that saying about people in glass houses???

You mean you shouldn't throw darts when you're in an incubator?

I wrote a post to say thanks to the people that helped me out with all my misshaps.

Don't really see your point here buddy?!?

No real point mate - just had to have a laugh at that

I actually agree with you in a lot of respects - ie. that a WAKSA bar could end up being the real-life version of some of the worst parts of this forum. At the same time, it takes all sorts to keep this world ticking over. I guess I just thought it was a bit un-necessary to shoot down the guys who are interested in one so heavily.

But that's what makes your posts relatively interesting to read compared to some. You've got an opinion and you're not afraid to air it.

While I'm feeling in a ** stirring mood:

Anyone know if C's are better than SLE's?

And should I get lessons before having a crack at this sport?

And am I influential enough to kite Woodies yet?

And has anyone seen anything interesting lately (Skwinty?)?

Man I'm not shooting down anyone I have visions every other day, that doesn't necessarily mean they are great, should be realised or even ever be spoken of ever again. In fact some of them should be put in the vault. But that's another story

Sounds like a sausage sizzle waiting to happen, much like queenstown.

Though I like the idea of a regular night at one of the club rooms or coastal bars. I know Mark from Legends would be keen to entertain this for all the melville crew.
