Gees, What is it with you guys???

It's funny to see that the guys that only kite, or only pole have extreme opinions of their sport being better than the other. You know what? You are all full of crap! Anyone who does or has done both sports is the only one who can even voice an opinion. How can you slag one or the other if you have never been proficient at both and have an informed educated opinion???? .

I and many others have done or do both sports, there is things about each that are truly individual to each sport and they are all fun.
Greenroom is also off course, you can do a full loop on a kite if you have lines less then 10 metres off, a wave. You can send the kite beneath you!

Coming from somone who was able to pull forwards and the occasional backy and cheese rolls on a pole I can tell you it is more frightening on a kite and the punishment is harsher for screwing it up, HOWEVER, the moves on a poleboard are super fun with the delayed forward possibly being the most fun move in that sport IMHO.

It also took me a while to muster the courage to send myself over the front in FWD loops on my poleboard, so it's scary for both, who cares?? It's just fun

You will never see guys who do both, on this forum paying out on the other sport, because both are really fun, and just 'cause you pole, doesn't mean you can't kite too, and just 'cause you kite doesn't mean you cant pole too.

Both sports rock, stop this useless arguing and get into the other sport if you want to put it down so at least you will have an informed opinion and will not be talking out of your arse as you all seem to be doing.

Enough Said!

Good winds and Peace

Yes Darren, as someone who has witnessed your ability on a windsurfer.
To say you are proficient at fwd and backloops..is a fabrication.
Be aware nsw wavesailors have seen you sail.

I've used my 130 posts to help blokes out and have a larf, not to rip ****. At least when I'm out there I'm having fun, not getting angry at kiters. I'd rather spend my life helping people than being a dickhead.

Sometimes I find myself standing amongst the punters and tourists when they are keenly watching the wavesailing from the little lookout that oversees our local pointbreak.

I catch myself eavesdropping on their candid conversations.
The general discussion and focus from the punters is always directed at the kites.

It's like the Windsurfers are invisible!

next time any of you interlectual midgets is down south and theres a big swell running, pull into north point and watch some of the guys out there. no one will be hanging onto their pole or their bar. they will be doing real surfing. real bottom turns, real smacks off the lips and they will be relying only on their skills and physical fitness and they wont be giving a bugger about kiteSURFING or windSURFING or the people who do it. get over it. real Surfing is still the one.

Well guys and gals,

we all seem to be getting a bit twitchy due to the distinct lack of air movement, not counting the hot air which has been blowing here.

sooooo.

I'm making the ulitimate sacrifice. Elmo has to go to sunny Melb for a w..kfest (meeting) on Thurs Friday and Saturday.

Laurie knowing this has generously predicted that my sacrifice will be great.

So next time the doldrums visit and hueys gone on holiday, you now know what to do to fix it

Just shout F... Of Elmo

and all will be better

Oh woe is me

nah was just talking to the dickhead 'i think kitesurfing is gay' windsurfers who actually read the kiting forums (this also works in the opposite fashion too). Half of the bastards talk themselves up anyway. Personally I reckon the only thing windsurfing has over kiting is wave riding...having said that, kiting has or at least will in the very near future take over (thank you space monkeys 2).

Anyway, we need less of this ****...its too hot...theres no wind...and the forecast was wrong today

By the way...congratulations to peto who has successfully contributed 6 out of a total 7 posts as a windsurfer to the kitesurfing forums. Man you are tooo 'oh so' cool

An unbiased observation:
Why is it that topics like this only ever start in the kite forum and are started by kiters?

And it is funny how some people talk up their skills that they apparently once had or currently have.
Its amazing what you can do when no one is ever watching. Never happened when I was watching. Bad timing on my part?

Anyway, this year I will be kite world champion....as long as no one is watching.

doustan, hey dude.
I noticed you chose North Point as an example for your 'surfers are superior' argument rather than say Margaret River which is just down the road.

That's because I know that you know that Windsurfers and Kitesurfers rip Margies on a daily basis (along with surfers too of course).

And just for the record and not wishing to blow my own trumpet, I've sailed North Point (and the Bay) on a number of occasions during winter of course on westerly gales.
OK, in those conditions it's not your typical pitching, barrelling, North Point; however, with those winter grey skies, the cold green water and those slippery black boulders, this makes for a spooky session, especially when you're the only one out.

Hey, we've mentioned nearly every watersport that exists in this topic, let's not forget Tow-surfing. Respect.

I'm hearing you Nutbag!! This gay **** is only ever started on the kiter forum. We often get the "heads-up" on our forum that you little turd-tappers are whining yet again... ...and what is this "take over" mentality? Take over what???? World domination for kiters? Pink fabric sales will go through the roof!!!!

Free advice - Shut up and get on with it you harness loving nancies. That is once you finish:
a) checking out the punters (pensioners more likely) "candidly" discussing how very pretty a kite looks ("what a lovely cup of tea, can I have another digestive biscuit please mr bus driver?", "look at what the gay kids are up to these days", "he's taking a long time to get the kite off the water", "was that a big shark fin"),
b) putting the right product in your hair and getting the right eyebrow expression sorted,
c) practicing the attitude in your "Gnarly Dude" hand-wave,
d) putting your boardies on the outside of your wetsuit
...and e) crossing your fingers it doesn't get too harsh or windy out there...

I've got a mate who kitesurfs, but I think he might be gay...

Get-a-dog-up-ya dangle boys, and get a stuffing life!!!!!!!

Gettin' gone!!! Seaton

Have you guys ever seen any real-world fights between Kiters and Windsurfers. Tell us your stories.

ALL water sports are Awesome! Windsurfing in 35kts is INsane! Kiting is Spectacular even in 15kts!

Lets all take the piss out of some other stupid sports - like the ones where they chase around an inflated pig bladder and get paid millions.
