Hey Dueller's what's the drum on Impact vest's,considering getting one for a no. of reasons....protection, bouyancey, warmth...they all look good i.e Dakine,Mystic,Cabrina even Jet Pilot,I have a Dakine Taboo harness, they all state to be compatible with ya regular waist harness but I am after one with a little bouyancey factor to make it easy for water start's in the surf etc,had some sound advice from a good dealer but was interested in comment's from anyone on the forum site, as like all the product's there are heap's of styles and types...Roo

I use the Jet Pilot and really enjoy it. Not sure how it goes with a waist harness as i haven't tried it yet. Side entry and easy to get into, floats well enough (I tip the scale at 105kg).

Jet Pilot has one out called SWAT and it's made to fit over your harness and theres a hole for harness hook. My girlfriend has one and she loves it.

biggest thing is to try it on with your harness as that will be one of the key factors.

Good luck with the Noosa rally

Dakine for me. Just enough floatation to get me back to the beach when I've ditched my kite. Just enough padding so I don't wind myself every time I stuff up. (often)

I only wear it when in the surf basically for peace of mind. If I ever got into a bind like Ian Young last week I'd be f@#ked.

Always use them in lessons.

i got the cabrinha impact vest with the integrated harness- meant i didn't have another piece of gear to forget.

it's great for the flotation in surf with a downed kite- really easy to float in winding lines at the same time.

can be pretty warm- good for winter.

Hi Roo,
Please excuse my naivety as I generally reside on the other forum, but may I ask for the definition of a "Seabreeze Dueller"? It seems to rate mention frequently in your posts and has me intrigued.

Have faces been slapped with leather gloves, should we be cleaning our pistols for a showdown at high noon?

Thanks,
KB

Kinda like that Knoty, after becoming familiar with the wide spectrum of personalities on this kiteing part of Seabreeze I adopted the term "forum dueller's" as an apropriate nickname for us...yes at times you would think that a pistol wipping, glove slapping showdown was inevitable between some forum dueller's but in most case's it is light hearted entertainment that keep's us amused(especialy during wind lull's).If you have noticed, amongst all the bulls**t there is some great imformation to be read....My last topic (not so great) was "Church of Kite Fundamentalists" as I have often said,"to get all of the kiteing crew from the seabreeze forum at the one place together, would be a total crackup"...Roo

Yep, love my old super daggy Bump n Jump.

These have a kite knife, enough flotation to help after a lung busting landing and certainly helps keep the ribs together after a backroll accidentally morphs into a, higher than kite, kiteloop.

This incident impacted so hard that the jacket dug deep into the water and became a temporary water collection anchor, shearing down one side as I was hauled off for the next impact! Bloody glad I had it on! $10 for a stitch up and still saving my bacon. Cost me $90 second hand.

Bump n jump 8/10 for function but only 2/10 for fashion

Roo,
Makes sence, although I actually thought you had misspelt 'dwellers' which would also be appropriate. Some members seem to spend more time dwelling in these forums than on the water
