Hey guys, probably been asked many of times but iv decided im going to purchase an impact vest. I need one that will work with my mystic warrior harness. Im concerned with two things, floatation and fitting. I'd like something with decent floatation to assist if i ever get exausted and stuck out at sea. Fitting wise my harness is quite small on me and i dont really think it wil fit over any more material such as a vest. Im keen on the mystic impact vest due to its the same brand of my harness. Any info is appreciated. cheers!

Hey mate I own a mystic impact vest saved my a#$% a few times now
where your harness fits is about the same as a wetsuit 2mm aprox. I can fit my harness over it and a wetsuit and Im on the same mark(harness adjustment) as when I dont wear a wetty. As for floatation remember it is an impact vest not a life jacket it does provide some floatation(I would rather have it on when in truoble though)but not like a ski vest! The false sense of security realy helps pushing your limits but it will still hurt if things go bad hope this helps

They're ok, but only take the "sting" out of the hit, not the "kick in the guts" factor.

'If your using a seat harness'

Some comp ski / wakeboard floatation jackets are perfect impact jackets. They have been designed for Body slaming & floatation for years.. and at a faster speed than kites will ever reach (drop height speed included).

If you shop round there cheaper too.

My personal crash experience from speed skiing was clocked at 70mph on an outside shoulder turn - bounced in air (length) about 40 feet then end over end slams.. the jacket worked great but got slight concusion nearly passed out my comfort was in knowing i was not going to sink (flotation).

I still use the same one its great for kite slams !!!

If your not pushing the limits.... a blow up ring will work fine
