Hi,
I'm heading to Cairns for 2 weeks, right after christmas. Will it be worth while taking my kites? When is the kiting season up there? What about stingers? Anyplaces I should visit? Oh yeah, and crocs. What about them? are they everywhere?
Any info is appreciated, even on where to be for new years. :)

Normally I would say don't bother bringing your kites - typically no wind(sub 10 knots) high humidity, stingers etc. But...... we have had wind just about most of Oct, Nov and now Dec. Very unusual for this time of year as our season runs from about April to September.
Forecast for the next two days is 20 to 25 knots. Had around 15 to 20 yesterday. Make sure you have stinger protection and kite at Yorkies with the locals. Say G'Day and they will look after you.
