Im a bit stumped and was hoping that some of the Seabreeze crew could shed some light in the insurance situation for me..

First AKSA

The AKSA insurance policy expires on the 30 September each year... Does that mean that if I sign up now I only get 2 months cover!! Also, is there any international cover included?

And IKO

You must have a Kiteboarder Card and level 3-J before you can have the Kiteboarder Insurance. Is this worth the effort when AKSA is providing localised insurance?

Cheers

i know with aksa and waksa last year they had a $30 option that went from winter til the next start of cycle so u didnt pay for what you didnt use. and then from then on you pay your $60 a year at the same date. contact them by email for full details.

Hey il est myron,

The AKSA cover is Australia only and does not cover International travel. Once you are outside Australian waters you are no longer covered. It is also only Public Liability. It does not cover you for personal injury or salvage costs. It is however cheap and allows you to enter Australian comps.

Insurance is optional although highly recommended, I mean it is illegal to drive a car without third party public liabilty insurance, why would you ride without cover?

It is a wise idea to get covered either through AKSA or IKO look at the policies and decide which suits you best and act on it.
