Aftermath? How can it be an aftermath if we haven't seen the cyclone itself? It is related to the cyclone though, have a look at the synoptic.

Sshhhhh - ppl are getting reported.
Nite kiters must secrete away into yonder closets.
Descend under a canopy of darkness.
Launching schemes in the mystic realms of secret beige - only to emerge & disappear like elusive kite-burglars.
Leaving nothing behind but an eerie, slowly fading glow eminating from the bins of the deserted secret nite-kite-site.

Unlucky Puppet, you got the even post instead of the odd. Since I have the secret beige, I will outline my master plan for world domination now...

...windy, trees bending outside, can't concentrate on work...

Night kiting, hmmmm. Surely be good wind for it, but the moon doesn't get up for a while tonight, might have to wait until almost midnight to be able to see.

Hey I wonder if Sandgroper can read secret beige. Shhhhh....

Ahh, quiver size. I have three kites of my own, and access to three more of close friends, giving me 7,9,10,12,13 and 16 to choose from.

Friday, 15.00 WDT - daylight saving time...
WAKSA website says it's currently 42km/hr from SSW. By my conversion chart, that equals about 23KNOTS...
Seabreeze graphs show Melville Water @ 30 KNOTS gusting to 35 KNOTS.
Seabreeze graphs show Swanbourne @ 20 KNOTS,gusting to 30 KNOTS...

Farken hell. it's windy...

i like the sound of that.

by the way i'm at home, with a troubled knee and after unrelated surgery, watching the wind here.
I had to close the curtainsso i couldn't see the trees outside, i watched tv with colinwill78-junior playschool....their story was about wind, and how strong it was, then there was another windy show on and the news has been all about wind bringing down planes and the damn cyclone.
I miss kiting.

enjoy your wind all!!!

Back in action next week!! YAY

most people at Peli point were riding 6m kites this evening, and still getting high and long floaty jumps. Only one dude was riding a 10m Ion 2, he looked like he really knew what he was doing though. V. impressive to see people riding in that wind!

There was one dude at Brighton who alse spent an hour and a half out on a 10m kite this arvo too. He was getting some serious air off the faces. Should have had the WAKSA big air today.

It was an awesome view from the top too

Fook that, I was off upwind at the south beach access. Not quite sharing the same postcode. They are the best waves on the stretch though, just in front of the surf club, worth crowding for.

As for the claims, I'll claim 32 knots, the biggest gust on the Swanbourne station (7.10pm), on my 10m yellow airush lift and 130x41cm board carrying 112kg ballast. Anyone care to dispute?

Sandgroper, if that was you, you should remember which one was me now with the above clues.

As for sleep, the dopamine and alcohol is still too volatile a mix. Kiting tomorrow Safety Bay though, after a half day's work, say lunchtime.

32knot gust while i was out. 10m rebel and me weighing in at 74kg. finally a couple of realistic claims.
emphasis on the GUST part. would have been averaging about 25 probably.

Was out on my 9m Xbow at 68kg with 33kn gusts, the solid greens at Melville hitting 28kn. As anyone who knows Melville it was shear pleasure and pain wrapped up in one. Reality was it was any were from 10kn to 33kn's but man the 33kn's at the right moment were heaven....the oposite was p*%sing me off.

Hey Kitehard,
just wondering if you used the DNA as it is easy relaunch in the washing machine at scarbs, rather than a flow, lift or reactor or thats the smaller kite you had in the quiver??

regards
Poida
