I was at Pinaroo Point the other day which is a location for beginners. I had gone to work on back rolls and wanted to do it on the flat water. A guy lost his board so I attempted to pick his up but missed it twice, so I thought I would do the right thing and just take his in then drag out to pick up mine.

Tricky spot Pinaroo point, what I didn't realise is that the wind was slightly off shore and that the shape of the bay means that my board started to head out to sea. When I got back out to find the board, it was no where to be seen. I did some very high drags out of the water but could not find it. I came in down wind then went over to a jet skiier who was going around the kiters. The jet skiier was more that willing to help and after 10min he came back with the board. When I saw him pick it up I could not believe how quickly it had gone that far out.

A lot of kiters were going on about that jet ski but for me I was very thankful for his assistance in getting my board back.

One good turn did deserve another and luck for me I had my good turn returned to me on the same day.

If you are at Pinaroo Point and see the jet skiiers don't give them a mouth full, just remember that they are not all that bad and no doubt they have helped out people like me in the past
