The new beach down at Beacon Cove (at Port Melb between the Westgate and the Station Pier - Spirit of Tas, where he last townhouses have just finished being built)is being opened this weekend on Sunday 10 - 3pm.
look at the council website for info.
http://www.portphillip.vic.gov.au/splash_at_beacon_cove.html

The promoters are hoping to have some kiters doing their thing at the new beach.
This is a great PR thing and could open up a new spot for us to kite on a permanent basis.
Wind is supposed to be going Southerly at 10 -15 knots. Should be good. If not then we can pump up kites and stake our claim on the beach, which is all fine with the event promoters.
Beach is nice and just wide enough to launch as I go down there often with a foil to practice.
If you can show up and strut your stuff please put your name below as a Maybe or Definite.

I really hope we can get a dozen or so guys.
Azza could this be the last appearance of Frankenkite?
Silviu this is all your promotional dreams come true?

Dedorah Conway is playing, Sandridge SLSC is doing some stuff with their boat, circus performers etc.
Hope to see you all there

When I drove past that place 9 months ago and saw a sign saying "future home of the surf life saving..." I thought they'd gone nuts. Where's the k'n beach? Bugger me, they made one!

Forecast looks ugly www.seabreeze.com.au/graphs/synoptic.asp?StateID=1
more like West-NW with rain... and a hangover.

Who's up for it?

I will try to be there, however I am not sure I may need a lift (I cannot get all my equipment on the bike).

Sunday from the Bom
Northwest to westerly wind to around 10 knots tending southwest to southerly at
10 to 15 knots during the day.

Looks like it should be ok from about lunch time. Westerly should be 1/2 kitable at Beacon cove as it is much more south facing than St Kilda. it would be nice to have a bit more south in it though
