KKK pulled of the CON of the month when they ' suckered ' me away from my favourite ' south wind kiting playground ' to join them in a ' GREAT DAY of KITING '
NEVER again KKK .... what a crappy place in the SOUTH. Wind was gusty as hell and up and down like a mad nympho. Oyster rocks everywhere .... more rocks off the point .... carved dirty big scratches on my magic underground B52 Bomber. Mangrove scrub just waiting to 'EAT ' up your kite and above alll ..... not enough room to swing a dead GALAH .... 4 kiters and the place is history. AND to make matters worse .... one lousy little mistake and its first stop Sydney Airport.
Yep KKK .... ya's got me good ..... I'm going back to the place I looooove ...... KITE BEACH BRIGHTON ..... where everyone can kite without the worry of a facefull of oyster rock and a brush with mangrove scrub .... yep you won't see me there again boys
I agree Col, Kurnell is the ****test. Wanda and Dolls crap all over it and I live there. I'm gonna be heading into the waves next year. Flat water is for suckers unless you've got something hard to hit in there
PS. Kurnell sucks don't go there especially if you can't ride properly or our rocks will eat you. Go out Dolls cause then if you stack and wreck your kite you can run across the road and Steve will fix it
Went out to Kurnell today... The only kiting I got to see was across the bay at Dolls Pt. Saw a small bronze whaler in Quibray... cool to see from the beach but was much happier not to be kiting with it today. The ranger said the bay there is a breeding ground in Spring Summer.
Hey what the...Its great... flat and a touch gusty I'l admit but challenging. Sure there are some bad points..nowhere's perfect. The Oysters are "livable" as long as you now where they are. OK so Uwe holed his board Saturday but it was a stray Oyster and they're not as bad as the sunken poles. Anyway at low tide you can see them breaking the surface, big deal. And this stuff about Sharks is shark ****...I only saw a few last year and they were small and mostly between the two large Fisheries bouys right in the middle; the one that guy slightly damaged with his head last March. You got to pick your moment there that's all. It's only a short run and more that 3 or 4 and it's a kitefight especially with so many windsurfers claiming they own the place. What gets me though is the attitude of the KKK they don't like outsiders. One guy just threw up a beginners kite, it drifted back into the window, powered up and dragged the outsider 30M before it crashed. They just laughed..Felix you know who you are! But hey sod em and their "Deliverance" attitude...never seen so many banjo's. But its beautiful there and I can't wait to go again just as soon as my infected wound from a local dog bite heals and my mate gets out of hospital...why do people leave syringes on the beach? PS If anyone finds a very scrached board which was borrowed from my car parked in the Kurnell car park please return it (or is it another KKK joke).
Im joining the Dolls Boys !!! Ran out of time this arvo so I went to KKK instead because I was desperate... No one told me that they are running radar traps all summer. 92 in an 80km zone and the pr**k would'nt cut me the slightest bit of slack.
Hint: dont kite when your that ****ty... it just does'nt help.
Think that was the last straw with KKK. I'd rather drive the extra 5 minutes and get a good kite in.
