I remember a while back someone wanting specs for an even buoy.

I'll do ya one better, how about a totally free, nice big and yellow buoy? Just repaint it and its yours, I saw down at Pinnaroo Point earlier this week a (Jet ski-ing Area) Buoy had been washed ashore, obviously the line couldn't take the strain in the seas from that last system that came through.

Its pretty light, an easy 2 man job and might need a bit of an orby or a sandblast for the barnacles. Im pretty sure Flotsam is Finders Keepers anyways.

Good post infinidie.
If anyone out there is able to grab it WAKSA could sure put it to good use. (If its unclaimed of course - which is likely). WAKSA is in the process of putting together a whole set of events buoys right at this time.
If anyone can get it a post here or an email to waksa off our website would be all that is needed for one of us to pick it up from wherever without too much delay.

There's a wave rider buoy somewhere down the west coast of Tassie if anyone want's one. Capable of measuring waves upto 30m i think, but over that it gets a little stressed. It'll call you when the swells right and i'm sure it could accomodate an anemometer too.

if WAKSA likes free big yellow useless bouys then you could take a look at Peli pt. wouldnt mind removing them, the birds are seasonal anyway.

ohh so people DO want it, *drives to beach and puts it on eBay*

If you wanna know where it is, if its still there it should be about 250 metres north from the carpark at Pinnaroo Point. or it might have washed downwind a bit now. maybe burns? just nick a Cop's Beach Quad and have a fang down the beach...
