Hi Kite Girls,
We have two places left on the first ever Girls only riding clinic. Please email me if you are interested. Monday to Friday. Ends on Saturday with a girls riding day gathering at Woodies for all the girls who didn't get to do the course to catch up and chat with the girls who did, to make friends and see whos kiting and how.
Program Overview (Monday to Friday)
On day 1, we will be doing some theory about stance, posture and improving basics in the morning, including some hands on work of bar and line setups etc. Then down to Woodmans Point to ride. You will ride for about an hour or so which we will use to video tape your riding and the tricks you want to analyse the following morning. Each girl gets multiple passes (one at a time) in front of the camera to try and stick one or two different tricks each day.
Following on from video time will be practice riding time. One or two girls will be given a radio headset at a time whllst riding, and we will try and work on a trick of your choice. I hope to finish each day at around 4pm ie before the water gets crowded with after work crew.
We will then use the video tape the following morning to analyse and breakdown the tricks and hopefully improve or help you master it or find out where you are going wrong. We will also cover a variety of tricks and associated riding techniques in detail each day, in theory and discussion time. Tricks will range from back rolls, to better boosting, self rescue to kiteloops and dealing with surf and riding overpowered etc. Something for everyone.
Daily Routine1 hour of theory/discussion
2 hours of video analysis
45 min break for lunch
30 minutes drive to Woodies
1hr riding in front of the camera
2 hrs practice and radio instruction for individuals (rotating basis)
By the end of the week, I hope to have improved each girls riding ability, including; style, trick variety, understanding of the sports dynamics and the equipment setup and adjustment, and improved motivation and attitude.
We will be a small group so if you want to change things around, we can certainly discuss and implement changes. Certainly the course will revolve around the weather so we get maximum riding time in. Remember this riding clinic is about you, and for you, make the most of it! Weather forecast is looking excellent at the moment for next week!
I do hope you learn and enjoy and I look forward to meeting with you all on Monday.
Best winds and Peace to all,

Darren Marshall
