"A chance encounter with a pod of orca whales provided a special thrill for Raglan kite surfer Matt Taggart last weekend.

A normal Saturday afternoon turned into a memorable moment for Mr Taggart when a pod of five or six orcas, including a mother and calf, came close to shore in search of stingray.

pretty common sighting in raglan.. i kited there when i first learned and was riding in the river mouth with about 8 other kiters.. saw 2 orcas on the far side and after two tacks it popped up right next to the rescue boat less that 50m away from me... it was pretty thrilling sight ay. Also saw a few at St Helier in Auckland city whilst kiting.

It will be an Ozone kite, and looks like it is the light. Is it an 09 prototype? New graphics look good!
