Just need to vent to those that might care. Finally after four years of me kiting i got the wife to have a try and have some lessons. Seems i screwed up and while i was watching her for safty etc didn't manage to take a photo.

Tonight while personally frustrated that i haven't managed a kite in 7 days and the holiday of my dreams has been a big waste of money now the wife tells me i'm a prick for not tajing any pictures of her "evaenthough she didn't want to do it" so not only have i wasted my cash on a fancy place and airfares for her to join now i've wasted good money on lessons she didn't want. I'm amazed because after four years of kiting now the only time she's come to take photos she snapped some other dude because she hasn't even taken the time to look at what kite i have.

Am i justified in my disappointent?

+2 I see this all the time. Crew getting their wives lessons - just thank your lucky stars she didn't like it! Funny as, go down for kite, see ya mates wife gearing up "where's Pete", he's at home with the kids, it is my turn today". Ha Ha Farken Ha, think twice my friends before you get all like "wouldn't it be great if my missus did it as well".

And for all you dinks who have got their girls hooked ... ha ha Farken ha

I tought my wife to kite as otherwise we didn't spend much time together at all.

It's painful teaching anyone..... but once they have mastered it it is fantastic.

My girlfriend kites now - but they turn into rancid rabies ridden wolves when they are learning though - but it has to be done, otherwise theyll never get what you do.

Sharing the stoke perhaps?

Then again, some not everyone gets stoked for the same reasons...

... rabid wolves alright, girls spend money on cloths or shoes or ect ect, just because, so when the kite bug bites, they want to buy kites and boards because it has a really nice shade of green in it! But do you hear me complain, well yes, because now we spend money on kiting gear, oh wait, thats a good thing, forget what I just said!

Communication issues kimpa? Perhaps talk with your wife now and then, or follow Prop Joe's formula for marriage counselling:

some of the best couples i've seen are kiting couples, they can share kites and there's never a guilt trip for being out

... the only guilt trip I get is that sometimes I've been out longer! Mind you anyone who's been out longer, I get a bit jealous so its not a partner thing, its a missing out thing!

My wife kites with me as do my kids makes the sport so much more fun ,Just think when we look at holidays, top of the list whats the kiting like (not whats the shopping like ) and when gear needs replacing no arguments .But you have to be willing to miss out in the beggining and be supportive if you want the long time benifits .also pick some one else to teach her and some where you can kite at same time ( NOOSA )

Look if my wife wanted to kite (by the way i did attempt to show her 6 years ago before kids), then yes I would have no problems due to all the above reasoning. But she just doesn't want to learn and in-fact it has been a blessing, because it is my time away.

But she understands the need and all out holidays are based around it as it gets the kids in the great outdoors.

DOW - depends on wind, is used in all verbal arrangements with her friends and family.

But my kids are water babies and will learn soon enough.

thanks for the posts, i now very happy with the outcome. you are right, while some might share the stoke it would also dilute the stoke. kiting is my time to get away from all the crap, not make it crap.

jojo, if i want help with communication methods with women then i'll get advice from rsc.
