G'day

Im basically an intermediate rider, beginning to learn tricks and rotations.. What sort sort of kite would you recommend for this type of rider wanting to learn more quickly...

G'Day Geeza,

It totally depends upon your chosen style of riding. If you favour surf style, go medium aspect for turning speed and stability, if you favour going big and doing floaty jumps, go higher aspect for speed and wind range and if you like wakestyle and unhooked, then go medium aspect for power and stability.

Hope this helps

So for ticks like raleys and tantrums a mediun aspect is the way to go?

Yes, I only choose a high aspect radio if my goal is high jump. Not in my case.

A benefit of a high aspect kite is the windrange, a bit more than a medium.

, probably a better way to answer your questions is to ask, have you tried any different kites????

IMO for unhooked tricks, you probably want a bar with the centre lines running through the centre of the bar to not get your fingers cought on centre lines, or to let bar rotate in hand when holding on one handed..... want to have a chickenloop thats easy to hook in and out of...... a suicide leash with incorporated safety (instead of suicide as the only safety) but if your just new to it all, then a 5th line attatched to your suicide through the center of your bar, and somewhere near the chickenloop, or recon system such as cabrhinas are good choices. nothing wrong with haveing no safety and just using suicide aslong as you kite in safer places..

and for the kite aspect.. you just need to try them out. some kites don't unhook and continue flying well.. admittantly there are more high aspects that do this than medium or low... but there are high aspects that will give you the high aspect benifits, and can be used quite the same as mediums unhooked... mostly in new models

Enter the Wipika Matrix... The most perfect setup for learning unhooked moves I´ve seen yet. Does anybody else ride these kites cause they´re so under-rated around here?

i have found through my extensive experience that it doesn't matter what kite you ride because i can go good on all sorts of kites but i recommend the slingshot fuels
