What are peoples thoughts on these? Are they an alternative to bindings? Do they work very well? (comfortable to ride with, hole your feet in etc...???) Or will they end up causing me some kind of injury?

I use something like that but from Mystic which i think are better than those ones. As they have a strong elastic cord, big heel foam pad and heavey duty nylon for the screws.
Heel huggies i call them. Yep, they are awesome. I come from a wakeboarding background and think these are almost as good as bindings but have the added benifit of getting out in a hurry if things go pear shape. I made something similar just out of bike inner tube for my fiance as she was learning so she could concentrate on the kite.

I can't ride without them now.

Thanks for the info.

Medic, have you ever had problems with getting into a sticky situation and the board just wont come off. Just curious to know if its worth getting some.

I hate em. Its always good to be able to ditch your board in a hurry. My heel straps spend most of the time streched over my foot straps

Galeforce,
Yeah there has been a time when i got stuck. But once. Every other time i've just quickly pulled my feet up and bumped the strap with my hand down my heel. Then you just get out of them as you would your normal foot straps. To give you an idea how easy it is. I can be airborne and need to kick my board off, so i just shake my legs a bit and off it comes. I dont have them very tight. Sometimes they roll down my heel in hard chop but for the most part they stay near my archilles heel.
Mine cost $24. So what really is there to lose........ xcept $24.

I've been using Dakine Raptors for a few months now. I really like them and can't see myself riding without them now. They are a lot wider on the back of your foot than then liquid force ones. I like them because you can still slide out of them if you need to. Also, my board still comes off if I crash a big powered jump - so less chance of twisting a knee or ankle. Cost me about $25 from shq in Melbourne. I've also tried the new sync bindings from cabrinha, they are cool, but think I still prefer the feel of the raptors...

Here is a pic of them us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/canamsailcraft_2023_3174875
