Will be at magnetic island on 14th-17th and taking the gear with me so want to know where i can find others. Im still a newbi stuggling to stay up so more comfortable going out with others.
Let me know where to go while im there and if anyone wants to catch up.
The wife is busy with work friends so it gives me time to get out.

some info for kiting Magnetic Island can be found here:

http://www.tevenei.com/tvm/nellybay_kite_map.htm

and that page also has links to some maps of the Townsville spots.

As you'll see from the info listed on that website, Magnetic Island is not a very forgiving location for a rank beginner if you can't stay upwind yet. It's possible to learn in Nelly Bay (I did, and a few other island local newb's are plugging away too), but Pallarenda has a nice wide shallow sandy beach and probably better wind at this time of year too.

Anyway, give me a call when you get here and I can pass on some local knowledge!

Yeah so you will have to get yourself a stinger suit when you are up there

Panty Hose (and high heels) should do the trick

you name it, we got it this time of year, irukandji, chironex, tamoya jellyfish, stingrays, tiger sharks, stonefish, crocodiles, thunderstorms and cyclones!

My advice is....wear you stinger suit and don't fall in, and if you do fall in, get back up quick, and if you can't get back up quick, then for faaarks sake don't put your feet down on the reef!

..look on the bright side...you'll get better really quick! (I went from bodydragging to riding upwind in 1 session )

nah, just talking it up mate, you'll be fine, we run our snorkelling ecotours right through summer and we haven't lost a punter yet. I can sort you out for a lycra suit, just give me a call.

A.

Good work Andy, had me thinking i might leave the gear at home.
Should be good though, might get a suit if you think one is needed.
How much they cost?
