Always try you first kiteloop away from the prying eyes of the local crew! Get down to your local oval until you've perfected it preferably one that's got concrete grandstands n **** so the turbulance will force the kite round Get a vid n whack it up here to show the doubters your metal Remember you'll never, never know, if ya don't give it a go yeah!!! You rock!

Cheers to those who gave me constructive critisism, to those who didnt take note of my profile signiture- be warned.

Anyway last night got out on the water and mastered the kiteloop, not to hard really. Ive turned into a kiteloop machine over night..Maybe i should change my alias to "kiteloop machine".

Next on my list is the handle pass, ive heard its a little harder, might take me a week to get on top of it, then another week to combine the two tricks...

Do you guys think im learning to quickly, where is there to go after the kiteloop to handle pass?

I'm right with you Mike, and I heed your "warning" devilfish. As it says below, you don't dice the Devilled Fish - you flake the Devilled fish. Seems your warning is no more than a cooking tip.

DEVILLED FISH
1 lb (500g) fish fillets
1 onion, chopped
1/4 lb cottage cheese
1 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon black pepper or hot sauce
1 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
2 cloves garlic
1 cup milk (250 ml)
1 tablespoon curry powder
salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon paprika

Place the fish and garlic in the top of a double boiler and cover with boiling water. Cover and cook over boiling water until fish is tender (about 20-25 minutes) drain the fish and remove garlic or chop fine and reserve. Flake the fish. Combine the onion, milk, cottage cheese, curry powder and garlic if desired. Add to fish. Season to taste with salt and add paprika and mix well. Place in a buttered casserole dish. Bake in a 425 deg F (220 deg C) oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with lemon juice and serve immediately

Any moron can do a downloop. try a true kite loop, use your forward hand. Dont be a ***** and do the loop at above 10 o'clock. Get sum air and get above the kite.Spose you all brag bout your backrolls, unless you get that board above your head its a 'backspin'.
LOL

Err, dont want to start any more bullsh1t posts but Pullitharda your the only one thats mentioned bragging about your backroll spin thingys. Hope your doin them with your kiteloops & downloops. As if putting the board above your head by simply extending your legs makes a trick any harder. LOL

Something Interesting......

"With a kiteloop the kite is not kept overhead but looped, either direction, in mid-air obviously generating lots more forward pull. This is where things start to get a bit fuzzy: only rarely will the kite manage a complete loop and with bigger kites it's simply not possible to do a full rotation. You quickly realise that it's much easier, and less sore(!), to loop the kite while on the land/water/snow than in the air. So how far round does the kite need to go before you land to be a kiteloop? My basic rule of thumb is that the kite must be pointing towards the sky rather than the land/water/snow. This means that most of the kite's loop must have been completed in the air, it's a mid-air kiteloop after all.

You can loop the kite either way: backwards (opposite to the direction of travel) is easiest as the kite has less distance to travel - it's already done some of the loop as part of the jump. Forwards requires a bigger jump because the kite needs to move back over the top of the window and then loop. As I found out at the weekend it seems some people are claiming kiteloops as normal jumps then just downturning the kite on landing and heading off in the other direction. This isn't the same thing at all in my opinion. Don't get me wrong these are nice moves to pull but they aren't kiteloops.

"(Note on Kite Loops: As the sport evolves into this new era it
is important to understand the differences in kites to judge the manoeuvre. The more inside itself a kite turns the easier a kite loop is. The more dynamically powerful the kite, the harder a kite loop is. For example: If a kite just rotates 360dgs directly above a rider's head, it is just a 'kite spin'; but if it carves a massive powered arc close to the water line with rider airborne, then that is surely a real 'kite loop' or 'power loop'. If the kite is de-powerable in the middle of that manoeuvre the skill level required is reduced, as with all manoeuvres of course."

Your quote PsYLoR;
I reckon a good term for that move should be 'Killer Kiteloop'.
It's got a nice ring to it, what do you think?

psylor sending the kite forward is harder(let me guess you aint done one) "the kite turns inside itself" Quote, the quicker a kite will turn will have a effect on the power generated but it is more importantly where you do your loop, eg:send the kite on the loop down low in the power zone and you will know bout it. Do it up high and its easily landed.

Yes get your legs above your head while doing the back spin and you have a back roll, and if as i guess you havnt been kiting too long keep practicing and land basic stuf before you talk the talk! p.s i spose you claim 'raileys' as a little 'pop'(moral of the story "get your legs up"

Ive come back after the weekend and there are 55 posts. Sorry guys im not ignoring you, just been out over the weekend knocking out some gnarly killer loops... I got a bit of a fan club on the beach this weekend, they were asking me how I had been kitesurfing for, I told them only 2 weeks and they were amazed...

By the way, G'dog and poor relative, hows longs your comedy double act been going. Can we catch it anywhere aroung perth soon. On second thoughts give it up, and stick with cooking. And while your giving stuff up, put kitesurfing on your list. It would mean two less bods shamefully walking back up the beach...
