I would appreciate some thoughts on whether I should go to Kitestock or my (kitesurfing) friend's wedding in Dunsborough.

Things to consider:
1) He knew kitestock was on early Feb before choosing a date
2) His whole wedding party and half his friends are kiters and had all but penned in that weekend for kitestock.

possible outcomes - change the date of the wedding, go straight to kitestock and not wedding, leave for kitestock after ceremony, or get absolutely rediculously drunk and try and forget about kitestock until 2010.

Whatever happens there will be quite a few unhappy kiters at his bucks party, which should make for a pretty interesting day.

Unfortunately I don't think moving location would be a consideration with quite a few people coming from overseas with accomodation booked and deposits paid.

It would truly be a grand weekend if they got married in Dongara on the Kitestock weekend - then we could make him kite in a pink dress for his bucks party as well.

And if you take into account current divorce rates there's a pretty good chance this won't be his last wedding. Just joking Sh**o

If you turn down your mates wedding and come to kitestock that deserves a prize catagory all of it's own and I will personally get up on stage and give you a $140.00 bottle of Angostura Premium Rum my freind.

You would have to have the biggest bulls^*t story to get out of that one and go kiting for 4 days. I like it though. Start thinking and it's there for you if you come.

Ahhh ** Specimen, as if the case to go wasn't strong enough already with new borads and kites being thrown around, $140 rum prize for the new category is a real tough one to turn down. DAMN!

The date has been set, but invites aren't out yet so he may not send one now.

Dylsa my young friend, you have forgot to mention there are three of us in that guy's wedding party. And you know I enjoy a good bottle of rum and a stiff summer breeze, don't stiff us both, hang out for a better offer.

Well it was in the WAKSA mailout last week, I'd hardly call that secret. I do believe it's what prompted this thread. Also in the mailout was a mention that the website development is underway...

WAKSA forwarded a mailout last week to all current members with several items of news including the dates for kitestock.
In the ongoing program to continually improve 'all-things-waksa', the new web-team has moved the website to a new server to allow for the building of a new site. The move may have caused some glitches? If you are a waksa member and did not receive the mailout last week please let us know by email to [email protected]. NB: We have temporarily closed the web based online waksa membership renewal. The new member renewal process will be activated on our new site well before the Oct. 1st start up date.
