Whats happening with KS?

I am a bit hesitant to register with all this Cyclone story up north messing up the wind.

Looking on the Kitestock web page, the tickets are not moving too fast, is it the price or the weather that is deterring people? And when does registration close?

Cheers
Rich (sorry WAKSA, I know you guys do a great job but had to ask the question)

Hi Rich

I read this in a WAKSA post but i dont know for sure if it is still the case but

"Registrations close on January 12th 2012"

So that might have made the call for you.

I would still get in contact with the WAKSA crew cos wind or no wind Kitestock is still bloody good fun!

Plus i was told by a local birdy that the wind is going to be going OFF!

Rich (and everyone else)...

Registrations are still open and we'd love to have you come up for KS 2012.

January is 'always' windier than February as we saw last year, which is why we've brought the event forward a couple of weeks. It's also still in the school holidays so it's a bit more (school age) family friendly...

We've got a week & a half to go and without having a crystal ball, (fingers crossed) the current cyclone will have no impact on KS 2012. By all accounts from local kiters, Shire reps & caterers, the wind is on & isn't going to be going away any time soon....

I would love to go but my Insurance has just expired $130 plus the Cost of the ticket $250 then accommodation and booze it is just a bit more than I can afford at the moment. :( I'm not a CUB on $$$$$$ and struggle to afford the WA lifestyle.

A word to the worried (maybe way outta place - but there u go. If I get a whack on the hand so be it - wont be the first time ((or the last)) )
WAKSA has ALWAYS put an early deadline on regos trying to make life easier for all the volunteers & contractors involved. Early assessment of numbers makes the whole show way easier to handle.
BUT
Kiters - being kiters - are the worlds worst at doing as they should, or as asked to, or as told. History has shown that up to 50% of those that are actually serious about rocking up wont do anything about registering till after the advertised close date . Then they will squeal blue murder if there's no tickets left.
My 2c worth is try registering - if its locked??? then email [email protected] and ask what the GO is.
My bet is they will find a place for you regardless of numbers. If they dont/cant its gonna be one hell of a crowded beach.

All I really care about is that Ive got my tickets. BRING IT ON!
4 days of kiting and 3 nights of cowboys & itchy-bums - why the fk wouldnt U
Highlight of the season.
