Just a question to the goldy crew or locals. I'm heading to Burleigh on Sunday morning very eary for a surf, and taking kiting gear in case the wind pics up, which it hopefully should ...

Are there any issues, apart from the standard kiting away from flags, surfers, swimmers etc., all the things I know. etc.

Are no bans like there is at the alley?

If the wind does pick up to the 15/20 SE predicted on Sunday, where would the best spot be around Burleigh for a kite?

Any warnings; etc Thanks guys Goodwinds

miami is another good location, if winds gets up we in the arvo, we will be heading to miami. more room , less swimmers and surfers and beach goers to contend with

The best spot at Burleigh in a SE is to go as far away from Burleigh as possible.

Just go kiting at the main point break at Burleigh.

I hear the surfers are really friendly and love to have kiters sharing the waves with them! They will hoot and holler with delight,at your every move !

liz, there is no ban at the alley! i don't know where people get this twisted info from, there is however a six knot speed limit inside the tip of the rock wall to the tip of currumbin rock, always has been for decades (kiters just pushed the rules too far on this one and drew attention to themselves via the local politician).

it's still a great place to kite if the wind is southeast enough, just launch off the front beach.

okaay... thanks guys. I wont kite anywhere near the alley anyway.. Just for the sake of not wanting to risk it for otheres especialy etc.

Ill see how the wind goes at Burleigh on Sunday, and if its crap, ill move to main beach in the avy when its blowing

thanks fellas. Usually the guys don't mind kiters etc.... esp chick ones jk...
