In the true spirit of total stupidity, I reckon I may have achieved a world first....mid-air kite collision, one kite went thru the other...so what you say...they were both my kites...DOH!

Me on 18, mate on my 14 ( he showed up late from work, saw my 14 pumped on the beach and helped himself), riding into the setting sun, 14 is yellow i.e. invisible from my kiting vantage point...mate trying to impress chicks in the water catches a fin and face plants - I laugh so much I just about fall off the board & next thing I know I have a little more bar pressure than normal.

Thank god it was at the very end of the session & no harm done.

Funny but.

Hahahaaha, but i know a story that beats that easily.

One of my mates was riding and he decided it was too windy so he came in and he didnt want to bother anyone so he decided to go to safety (sideline). He uses his own modded pulley bars and i think the safety was actual above the "V" not on the actual sidelines.

Anyway he couldn't be bothered reaching to uncip his death leash to that far above thebar so he just clipped it to his side line.

By now you all know whats gonna happen hehehe...

ANyway he lets go thinking theline will pull through but to his suprise the bar is now like 3m away from him doing unctrollable kiteloops whilst he was overpowered. Because it was so windy and the leash was right on the side line the kite was doing such tight loops that once it hit the water it could relaunch and continue on its merry way. Anyway luckily it was slightly offshore because he couldnt reach the emergency release for his leash behind his back for more than like a minute.

Anyway he finally releases and the kite narrowly misses the downwind rockwall and it floats like 5km down the coast. Luckily he had a jet ski and he lives right next to the beach so he was able to rescue all his gear and he was badly hurt.

I would be suprised if it gets much worse than that... Although you can almost see how he made the mistake.

Dear Spacemonkey!

I'm guessing your story was really about yourself.

(The mate thing was just a little white lie).

Am I right ?
