Wondering if anyone know of any good places to kite near Honolulu? I am going to be there for 3 days in mid Jan for work and i'm keen to get out on the water. Also any idea what the wind is like this time of year?
there is a spot for flat water just around from diamond head about 10 mins drive it looked ok but has a few hazrds in the water - beacons etc - otherwise i saw people kite down to the right of waikiki from a park - best jump on a us forum and ask
Some kite at Diamond Head-although very gusty-the place the other fella' was mentioning was Kahala I think-OK, but usually flat water and again gusty-also shallow reef.
Depending on your ability get over to Kailua or the N Shore.
Loco's right, Kahala is the place to go or Waikiki. Remembering that January is Kona Winds so Kailua winds blow opposite direction to normal trades and are frontal and gusty.
