went out and it starting raining the other day, didn't do much. is the rain bad for your kite? does it screw with the wind?

If it's light it doesn't do much but if it's heavy, constant rain it screws up the wind.
But as for the kite the rain doesn't do anything to it.

Dont pack up ur kite with fresh water on it and leave it wet for a couple of days, take it out and let it get some air when home, the fresh water can cause mould to grow on the kite.

The rain isn't the problem. The weather change associated with the rain might be.

In Perth I would NEVER kite in the rain. Things could get very nasty.

Now I'm in Tassie, I've kited in the rain a few times. OK as long as it isn't squally. Rain in an easterly seems to be fine

i found that the rain literally kills the wind here...(except in the monsoons )
also, my foil kites, get them wet and it is like trying to fly a tea bag.

Wow awesome footage not what I really wanted to see when I'm just getting into the sport. Yet he wasn't hurt though and it shows you what can happen,I think I'll keep a close eye on weather conditions.
