Does anyone know how to obtain information regarding Kiting in the Greek Islands?
Looking to hire gear in either Mykonos, Ios or Santorini in early-mid June.

Cheers

I will be in greece by the end of this month, if i find an interenet cafe and the time and of course some kite info i will post info for you.
I believe the greeks are right into their wind surfing so there must be some kite locations too. I did google a place or two on the islands.

Kiting in Paros or Antiparos. No need to go anywhere else.
Santorini really isn't suitable due to cliffs everywhere, it's a volcano you know.
Eos is a goer if you wanna share with poles..!!
The Meltimi wind doesn't really kick until july.
See pics.

I was in Greece a couple of years ago. Spent some time in Mykonos, Santorini and Naxos.

While I was there I didn't see any kiteboarding in Mykonos and Santorini...Naxos on the other had a kiteboarding school there.
The beaches at Naxos were nice and sandy.

If you are just going to spend time in the "Cyclades" group of islands in Greece then I would say for kiteboarding try Paros/Naxos...Mykonos, Santorini and Ios are just party islands.

Just my 2cents worth....enjoy!!

The eastern side of Santorini has nice wide sandy beaches, the sand is black (crushed up volcanic rubble) and f#*ken hot when the suns shining.

No wind when i was there but its kiteable, no where to hire gear as far as i know.

As gigantas said naxos has a school and nice long white sandy beaches. I had one session there, crap wind (bit light for 12m) but was glad to get out after lugging my gear for weeks through europe.

If you want to kite in Europe, Head for Spain/Portugal, plenty of sandy beaches and heaps of wind.
