At Brighton Scarborough yesterday around 5pm, a person was body dragging in the ocean in a inconsistent easterly and their kite was barely flying, before you could blink, the kiter was 3-400 metres from shore when their kite lufted out of the sky. Well what was he to do? the kiter swam to their kite and attaepted to swim it in. Ten minutes later, they were still swimming and hardly going anywhere.
I started headed for the surf club when I saw the clubbies set off for brighton towing a rubber ducky. They launched it at brighton and went out to fetch the kiter. That person was lucky because they would have been packing up for the day.
ALSO there has been some shark sightings around there of late. Especially heading for dusk, you could become a statistic!
Just another reason why the surf lifesavers down there will want us totally banned.
If that was a learner, that was very Irresponsible!!!!!

Obviously not...why would any proficient kiter be kiting in direct offshore conditions (woodies and the spit excepted)??

It's only going to get worse in the coming seasons unfortunately

some one forgot the IQ at home that day.
this morning at 6, after getting nice and soaked whilst rowing i was thinking how much fun it would be to go 4 a kite right then, stop in the lee at the spit to do some technique work and some fag (i say fag cus i wanted to go kiting and i was jealous) rigs up and has a great sesh in front of me. lucky, lucky man that one

has this got anything to do with your experience of kiting there and getting blown off the end for 40 min?
its not fair to hate the spot for your careless actions

You little sneak.

Amazing that not a soul was out. Had a good 40 min. of bliss. It crossed my mind to boost over the rowers.....but they may be crazy these rowers....might try and swat at you with their oars, but I know someone who could boost even over the oars.

Also, managed to be first at my desk at 8:30........sleapy heads, no wonder they all want daylight savings time.
