I'm going to Koh Samui end of October. Can anyone tell me where to kite there?

Cuttlebone kiteboarding is open on Koh Pha Ngan at that time. Do a web search and email the guys there.

There's heaps of good beaches for kiteing, it just depends on the wind direction. I think a school may also operate on Samui in October/November??

Hi Snowy,

The boys at Kiteboarding Asia are just 10 minutes outside of Lamai and have a great place to ride and good beach setup. Contact [email protected] or [email protected] for info

www.kiteboardingasia.com They also have a school in Hua Hin and also in Phuket. Their season starts in November I think, but check with the guys as I'm sure they'll fill you in.

Have fun,

Was just there for 2 weeks in June - it blew everyday above 15 knots! I was surprised seeing everyone always said to me that there was no wind.

I worked as a kite instructor on Samui for a few months.
Although the "kite season" may start in November, they don't get their most reliable wind until around Jan-Mar.
There are plenty of kiteable days before Feb, but you will need a BIG kite and board because it is usually around 13kts. Because of the flat water inside the lagoons, it's enough to get riding.
I think Brett, at kiteboarding asia, had been keeping a daily log of the wind for more than a year. If he has been keeping it up, I'm sure it would be on their website if you wanted to check.
Enjoy your trip.
