Anybody know if it's possible to kite on Lake conjola - the lake rather than the beach side?

Looks like it would be nice shallow flat water on Google Earth

there are trees along most of the shoreline and the lakes only like 500m and its 3km inland so might be possible on a NE'er but i wouldnt bother.

It is possible to kite a fair way into the mouth from the ocean. Got to far though and you risk the sand hills killing the wind and dropping you into the river.

You only want to kite this bit when the tides going out which will increase your apparent wind.

However - green island rocks both in the big waves out the back, or in the small flatter sections on the inside. Why bother with flat water?

Green island is the go or get up wind of the inlet, however when surfing out there I have seen a big grey object more than once! Just after the Dolphins clear out a large shark buzzed around. Thought It was all over.
Outgoing tide, Sunset, Seals, Dolphins then shark! Take care

sorry should have mentioned - we were planning a trip down there and have some beginners with us that need to body drag and attempt to get on the board etc.

So big grey objects are definitely not something they want to have to experience!!!

Yeah, too many bities down here, I wouldn't bother....

The conditions in the sea behind Green Island are beatiful in a NE, lots of sand downwind too. Otherwise I'd suggest head a bit further to Broulee for the beginners.

I would have thought this would provide plenty of motivation to get up and on the board in record time

i was alway told when paddling out to the left hander on the island that you were paddling over the "shark pit". Made you go faster.

i kited there about a month ago in a 20kt ne and had a great session. although the day before it was only around 15kts and i could not hold my ground and had to walk nearly the whole beach after about 30 mins.
i have also kited there in the entrance in a westerly, but the wind is very gusty and i am not sure i would do it again.
my experiences on the beach have also been mainly poo, except for the last ne session.
