I kite up at Wedge a lot.

It's only a few ks north of Lanno so that's the forcast I check. I've noticed the Wedge seabreeze is always a fair bit stronger than the Lancelin forcast. It could be a slight difference in the wind at Wedge and Lancelin, but I doubt the wind would be so consistently weaker in Lancelin.

Does anyone know how the Seabreeze forcast for Lancelin is generated exactly? Is it calibrated against the actual recorded wind speed up there?

Andrash is right, the wind in Lancelin sucks. Don't waste your time there, rather go down south, much better wind

It all has to do with the gradient breeze. NE in the morning means lighter breeze have a look at the iso bars and look at the directection and where they are crossing the coast.

Normally the south is better at the beginning of the season and north at end as it is hotter north to get a good thermal. Sea temp makes a big difference as well, check out the warm currents as they stop the strength of the thermal.

The other thing to consider is headlands when you are on the lee side the wind is lighter! well maybe the wind on the windward side accelerates do to the headland.
