I like the land jump into the water, usually with a board grab.
If you havn't done much kiting on the water I wouldn't reccommend you keep boosting yourself onto hard ground, eventually you'll fk up & get hurt. You should get on the water put some time into learning kite control and how to really send a kite properly and maybe then if you want to go for the land jumps.

I am sure this is a troll for kicks but in case it isn't ; Land Jumping is dangerous and is strictly for fools. The injury rate is really high. It is pretty much inevitable that you will be seriously injured sooner or later.

Do not beach jump as it sets a bad example to others who may also be as foolish as yourself. Even Alex (short shorts) finally was seriously injured beach jumping which put him out of action for a good while.

Leave the jumping to the water

You have the wind sussed eh?
cos thats wot controls the kite after ya lift off.
Nowon controls the wind m8!

everyone I know that has been flying kites and jumping on land for 5 years or less has had a kitemare or injury that has changed their life and their enjoyment of kiting.
Everyone I know that has been flying power kites and jumping on land for 10 years or less has had an injury that has crippled them or has severely impacted their life and they can no longer enjoy traction kite sports.
Everyone I knew that has been flying power kites and jumping on land for 15 years or less, is dead - or paralysed.
Get in the water, and be careful then too.
if you have not had lessons on how to use a kitesurfing kite get some before it is too late.

hey stoojio
i personally have been flying kites for years and years now
firstly with a two line stunt kite from the local news agent
i knew i was destined to be a great kiter because i could make that kite do 16 loops before it hit the ground
others tried but could only do a measely 14 loops
i progressed to larger kites and like you, picked up a traction kite from a garage sale
i like running down the beach with it in front at 45 deg then send it and jump as well.
pull real hard on your backhand and just start with one kite loop. i suggest you wear some gardening knee protectors. you should find some in bunnings.
just make sure you are well up wind of any beach users
coz they usually complain if your kite nearly hits them.
go big stoojio.
let me know how you go

"worst injury: - knocked myself out, bust my knee, broke both feet, popped a rib out and all my bones felt like they were made of shattered glass for about a week (couldnt walk right for about 1month and a half) .... all from being catapulted by my blade to around 25ft and free-falling down on to the grass ."

stoog you'll want to try a deadman next, it's easy mate just swing your feet/board up till it rests against your lines, go for gold and hold it as long as you can... double points if it's over a car park, wall, whatever..
