Does anyone use a landboard for kiting the beaches during the lighter wind months? I'v never really seen this, but I imagine it could work alright on hard sand at low tide. Just wondered if it is worth pursueing?

ummm....I tried it and it's harder than it looks- but plenty of the adelaide crew have them although not too many use them anymore.
This is a kiter wanting to know what others think of a crossover sport- cut him some slack....

If there's enough wind to landboard on a beach or on grass then there's enough wind to kiteboard.
I had one and one of my best kiting sessions ever was running 5km down a hard packed low tide beach. Getting back was a pain. All that tacking back and forth between the low and high tide mark. Cleaning sand and salt off it later is also a pain.

I have and use mine all the time..... and they are great for fanging around on the beach in 5-12 knots when everyone else is sitting and waiting for the wind to come up....! also good for offshore conditions if you dont have a good spot for surf or flat water, just hit the local park or footy oval, perfect for winter fitness down south in the northerlies....!
