How comes I never really hear much of Kite / Landboarding or Buggying over here? I know the ocean and river are fantastic but you can normally get out when the wind drops too much to get out on the water. I have a flexifoil landboard and an Ozone LD 4.5 that I brought with me from the UK but haven't used it once over here yet.....

IVE BEEN THINKIN BOUT SKIMBOARDING.
THERE ARE SOME GUYS IN CALAFORNIA DOIN IT WITH KITES AND THEY RECON U CAN GET GOIN IN 8 KNOTS. GUESS U JUST NEED TO KEEP UR KITE IN THE AIR AND A BIT OF SPEED TO GET U GOIN.
THEN JUST FIND EITHER SOME SHALLOWS OR SOME SLIK.
ANYONE TRIED SKIMBOARDING APART FROM USING A BOOGIE BOARD?
I SEE BROADWAY NOW SELL EM AND THE BASE MODEL IS ONLY 109 DOLLARS. IT IS SUPER WIDE SO I RECON WOOD BE JUST THE SHOT. I MITE HAV TO BUY ONE N EXPERIMENT. ID LIKE A WAKESK8 BUT TOOOOO DEAR.

BUT AFTER SHANON TALKIN BOUT SKATEBOARDS, I THORT OF THOSE LANDBOARDS TOO, WOOD BE SWEET IN THE PARK. SOMEWHERE LIKE SOUTH PERTH AT THE BIG PARK THERE OR SOMETHIN, A SMALL KITE ON SHORT LINES SO U DONT HAVE TOO MANY DRAMAS, AND AS MANY LAYERS OF CLOTHING AS POSSIBLE FOR ARMOUR.

Don't get me wrong........failing at any sort of jump or trick hurts and there are the normal hazards of trees, dogs, spectators, space etc but it is good fun. I kind of got into it cos the opportunities to actually Kitesurf in the UK were very limited and restricted to tides, weather, rules, 25mm wetsuits etc. Great way to learn about kiting though before throwing yourself in the ocean.....mmmmm so nice and warm over here!
Check out this link....will give you an idea

One idea for you guys to try is to use a 5m kite on dirtsurfer, a dirtsurfer is a 2 wheeled inline board. Out on the salt lakes in rockingham we've been getting speeds of 60-80km. The good thing is on a dirtsurfer you can really hold an edge because you can lean the whole board down right near the ground.
