I am just starting kitesurfing, I have been about 4 times I can waterstart and gybe(i am using a directional). But I have a lot of trouble water relaunching if I crash. Also sometimes the kite just falls out of the sky when it is in the neutral position(This never hapened when i was learning to fly a 5m wipika classic). I have a 2 line, 7m naish R3. Am I just crap or are these kites hard to learn on. Any tips or suggestions would be great. Also I have two sets of lines, are shorter or longer lines beter for learning

For water relaunching, take your kite somewhere shallow like Pelican Point and GENTLY crash it into the water and practice your relaunching technique. Also if the wind is too light relaunching can be more difficult.

Also one of the dramas with the kite falling out of the sky can be purely to do with inconsistant wind. Try flying the kite around in little fiqure 8's at the top of the window. give it a go.

I have an air rush lift and found it kept over flying and falling out of the sky even when there appeared to be enough wind. The trick was to totally depower the kite for launching, fly it to the neutral position and then power up as suits. Best of all is to get some one who is experienced with that model and have them check your setup. All kites have different flying characteristics.
Keep flying
