I have 2 bars
1 is 23"with 27m lines
1 is 20" with 27m lines
Thinking about cutting the lines on the shorter bar back to 22 or 23m
Just cut the lines and get the end tails sown back on by my mate who repairs kites
Then will use the shorter bar and lines for my smaller kites and the bigger bar and longer lines for my bigger kites
Any advise ?

I have a similar set up, but with 20m and 23m lines. I really like the 20m lines in surf, as kite gets from one side of the window to the other much quicker, so I don't have to pre-think my moves as much.
When you have the lines shortened, you can get some short segments made up from the off-cuts, so you can customise your line length even more.

Seems a decent idea.
I had my small bar cut to 20m
medium bar is 22m
wide bar is 25m
and as SibboVI suggests, the offcuts were made into extensions 2m and 5m.
I rarely use the extensions, but they were cheap and are good for travel with one bar.
90% of time I just use 20m lines on all my kites. It makes them a touch gutless in light wind but they turn faster.
Just get them cut and play around with the lengths and your preferences, its just preference at end of the day.
