does anyone here ride the LF Hi-Fi. could this kite be compared to the fuel.

i am mainly going to be riding this kite in the surf. No revs, switchys.

and what is the build quality like in their 2008 kite range.

Also like the look of the 07 vegas, yarga, and of course the FUEL.

PS. this will be my HIGH wind kite, so i am thinking of a 7-8m kite. Just not too sure what to get.

any recomendations would be , greatly appreciated.

if your looking at a wave kite, try the Rebel or maybe a Cult. The HiFi is made for freestyle, not sure how it performs as a wave kite

dude this kite is pretty sick ay, i had a 9 and 7 last year, really fast on 23m lines i think and i rode them for wakestyle and freestyle, Jason rode them in surf, ive tried them in surf and they were sick, really easy to throw around and delivery was smooth. Compares pretty welll to fuel, nice n fast turning too. only thing i noticed was it didnt slack off quite like a C when going for passes.

Mate I'm dreading the day my 08 9m can't take anymore and starts falling apart. I'm only into surf and I love it. My only criticism is the relaunch capability, plus the low end power. They aren't big factors for me these days.

I hear the 09 model is not so good, but if you can get your hands on a hardly used 08 grab it. Or look at the 09 comp edition, I've heard from someone that really knows his kites they are bit better than the 08 Hi-Fi. Maybe try demo the comp.

Happy hunting.

relaunch on hifis are easy! you just grab a hand ful of leader and it pops up..

My comment about the relaunch is in comparison to a bow/SLE kites. I've gone back to the Hybrid C kite and realised that they just take a bit more effort than a bow/SLE. I'll give the hand full of leader a try, cheers Charl.

One other thing they're a bit more challenging to self land using the Bow kite technique. But it's no big deal using the 5th line.

I have an 08 HiFi and although I haven't used it for proper unhooked strapless wave riding yet i think it would make an awesome wave kite. Its super quick and really stable especially when riding down the line. And yes the low end is quite bad but if its going to be your high wind kite then you wont find this a problem. I'd recommend the 9m as i doubt you will ever find its high end.

relaunch on hifis are easy! you just grab a hand ful of leader and it pops up.. low end is true they do lack a bit of grunt for their size compared to other hybrids but remember they are very C shaped, you have to work it to get the power.
PS i also found that riding with 5th line on slackest setting works the best, generates ALOT more power in the turns.

I've seen people you teh 07 Vegas in the surf with pretty good results. It's main draw back is the 2 pump system though, not very reliable if it has old bladers in it, though there pretty easy to change.
