I have a couple older kites circa 2003 that I would like to still keep in the quiver. Just wondered if anyone has any recommendations on a bar that I could retro fit to the old kites. They are not 5 line compatible, and I am looking for something where the safety release will actually work. After reading some of the whore stories on safety's not working I am starting loose faith in 2003 technology. The kite leash would have to work via the outside (back) lines. Would love to buy new kites but do not have the funds right now.

Cheers

Ran,

Have you ever had to deploy the safety on the Wipika under load? Do you have faith in the release?

i use a slingshot chickenloop safety on my 05 wipika bar and it works fine, my safety leash is wipika and it too work well. Have used both under heavy load (surf) and no issues.

Ive got a North bar from 05 and it it one of the simplest (therefore versatile) bars on the market. no frills, just idiot proof.
Also out of date now so may get a good deal if you can find one. Will work wth anything and can be 4 or 5 line.
I have mine hooked up with a standard 4 line setup and a separate 5th line all thev way down to the trim strap. Works really well and can depower in gusts in an instant(pull the 5th.)

The new airrush bar is probably one of the best thought out bars on the market, have a look at the website. Loads of good ideas.
