A mate of mine who has just started kiting tried to go kiting at Pinnaroo today (Monday 14th). He had a few troubles and a dummy spit and left his brand new Pyro harness on the beach. He said a guy tried to help him and noticed him leave the harness, I probably know you. Hes kind of ashamed of his behaviour so Im trying to find his harness to get him back out there

Cheers!!!!

Hey Shannon,
can't remember the guy's name that took it, but he will be back down in the next few days if there is wind. He's local, but leaves for Europe next Monday. He's OK, so there should be no probs getting the harness back. Maybe your mate was having a bad day, I think he's had a few bad days down there, perhaps he should talk to Darren about having some lessons

Thanks Allan

We've run him thru the basics of setting up and body dragging and general kite safety. First thing I told him was to book lessons but he'd prefer to learn the hard way. Hes a pretty bad listener too. I dont mind helping him out when I can but he gets a bit impatient and tries to go solo.
Cheers

Thanks I'll go check
I cant believe you threw it in the bin, those stainless Dakine buckles are so hard to get as a spare and probably expensive. Its not your fault my mate was just a bit sooky.

Thanks for the reply

I lost a dakine harness hook last year and emailed their warranty address in Hawaii asking to buy a new one + postage and they mailed me two new ones for free, they are packaged in pairs. I did have to email them twice though, the first time I got no response.

Hi All,
I know the fellow, he's a customer at Airborne. He told me about the incident today when he came in; the fellow spitting the dummy, throwing the harness down and walking away. The fellow ran after the guy trying to give it back but the guy refused (obviously very peeved). He said when the guy launched the whole harness wizzed open, hence the dummy spit. I guess 'hosh' found the missing part that caused the harness to fail. For obvious privancy reasons I won't put the name of the current possessor here but if Shannon or his mate calls Airborne I'll contact the fellow and see if he's willing to give it back.

Don't give the harness back - give him some golf clubs or anything else. Hell I'll pay for them - you'll be doing him and kiting a favor coz there will be one less nobba at the beach doin crazy shi$ and pissin off other users. Must be a sad unit when he won't even take advice and help from his mates. Dic&s like that are an embarrasment to themselves and the people that have to go around and sort their shi& out in the aftermath

No Surgeon, not golf clubs. Golf can spoil a nice walk in the park. A game really could do his head in. (Mental Picture......dummy spitter bending club shafts across knee and tossing boomerang clubs into water-trap.)

The greenhorn newbie stage can be pure frustration. A hissy fit every now and again is acceptable behaviour.

I am the person who has the harness I went and brought new buckles and bar for it and tried it out and i love it. but would be happy to give it back but you will have to buy the new buckles and bar off me. or you can swap it for my seat harness haha. If the sea breeze kicks in I will be at pinaroo point tomorrow you will know who I am by the harness that i am wearing haha. you better come and get it soon because I am becoming very attached to it, does anyone else have one that they want to throw away?
