Hey bigmark....I agree....you don't fully live unless you let your emotions take you to the extremes...kiting certainly does that.

Anakin, I don't mind the thread branching off.....after all variety is the spice of life :-)

Not much wind going on here this week, so might be time to dust of my landboarding gear!

I have to agree with most people in this forum, go for a kiteSURF. After a while of riding a twin tip, when you start to get all the basic moves down, and your trying new harder moves and getting punished you can easily get more focused on landing the new trick to improve, rather than just going out and having fun, enjoying what your doing. After a period of doing this, On a day with not very much wind, I decided to take my normal surfboard out and did a downwinder with a friend of mine who had raved about surfing for ages. After this, I can't get enough! Mix it up, when the waves are good or the wind is a bit lighter, take your bigger ktie out and go for a kiteSurf. If it's chopped up and crap, go down to your local river mouth with good current and go for a kiteBOARD. Best of both worlds I say. And if that doesn't reegnite you, try going some narly spot, like out to the island, or a shallow point break.

Just get some good drugs !

Thats the problem with SO many kiteboarders! Not enough drugs!

Some of them are SO anal, they need to get well and trully whacked, and maybe become at least a litle bit cool !

My MOJO has been feeling a little flat lately also……stress, work, life not going as planned, you know the story.

Anyway …I have decided to do a three week road trip in the middle of the year and head up north, maybe try and kite on some inland lakes and then up to Darwin to visit friends and do some kiting up there aswell. Get into some warm air in the middle of a cold winter and mix it up a bit.

I’m hoping this will restore some MOJO and quieten those screaming inner demons.[}:)]

Buying some new kit always helps your MOJO!

Yeah baby……….

Hey crakas, a road trip like that will definitely help restore your mojo, and I reckon that getting away from crowds is the best thing.

When I went to WA I loved the fact it was just me and a couple of friends on empty beachs with crystal clear water....amazing feeling.....and I'm going to get it back!

If you don't mind, let me know where you're heading and if I can get time off I'll grab a couple of other girl kiters and come join you for a couple of days. The wind up the coast during winter is known to be great!

you'll find that mojo once again, just be patient.

its inevitable to happen if that's the only main thing you do in your spare time or you've been doing it for a while, we all go through the initial high that lasts a couple of years. try doing some stuff away from the sport and you'll find the craving to get back on the water will come back.

good luck.

Although the swell in Byron has dropped the waves have been good lately, so bring your board. There are some good banks around. Water has been magic, so that may help repair that mojo. Enjoy!

Caelah,

I'm leavin' S/E QLD on the 17th of June and plan to be up in Darwin around the 25th. Stayin in Darwin until the 3rd of 4th of July and then headin' home. Plan to be home on the 7th of July.

Plan on being in Darwin for Territory Day (1st of July)so I can drink bulk booze and let off a load of firecrackers while under the influence with my mate. We used to this every year (tradition)when I lived up there (Nothing pleases the inner demons like letting off firecrakers while boozed up. I can hear the them chanting already.)[}:)] Amazingly I've still got all my fingers and hearing.

Everything else is a bit up in the air at the moment..but I will be visiting 1770 and and Lake Maraboon outside Emerald to see if i can go for a kite on it and maybe lake Galilee, I'll have to work it out on the way.

Cheers

Caela,
I'm somehow actually GLAD my mojo has eased off... for 3 years, my whole life was depending on my sessions to a point it was affecting my moods, my relationships, my work and I was turning into the worst bitch if there was no wind, making it unbearable for the people around me...
I've learnt this year to cool down about it and I am really happy! Kitesurfing used to occupy way too much room in my life. I've come to realise that by surfing, horseriding, (and other "ing" things... ), I appreciate my sessions way more, and don't feel guilty any more if I just don't feel like going out if it's on...
It will come back Sweetie (remember also that if your mind isn't at the right place, you can't enjoy your session as well...), but it's sometimes a good thing if it goes away for a lil while: it allows you to focus on other things... And to appreciate your kiting time a lot more....
Come pole dancing with me next week: I promise we will have fun!
And I hope to see you on the water friday: it could be the last NE of the season, you don't want to miss that one out!
I will boost you like I know how: "come ooooon, ****ing go for it!".
It's funny: it works each time... May be you've just been missing kiting with me, hey!

My boss is really great, he laughed only yesterday at catching me on seabreeze and is fine with me leaving early to kite all through Summer......so taking weeks off with no definite return time isn't how I think I should behave after 3 years of basically doing what I want in work hours!! Oh and add to that I've now planned a trip to Melbourne, Tasmania and Vietnam...all taking time off work to extend my search for the Mojo!

Hey Em, would love to kite with you this Friday and I expect you'll hammer me which is totally fine! Last two sessions I've been out I've been the only girl on the water and to be honest as much as I like it, I do like to have other girls there, it makes such a difference!! Would also love to come Pole Dancing....just name the time & place...what a scream....last time I tried it I was pretty pathetic!

Am pleased to report that my mojo jar is now 3/4 full.....woohoo!

After an amazing easter weekend with friends old and new (you know who you are!) I can now ride small waves with confidence, do kite loops (just the kite!) and self launch....all of which I have been scared of doing for a long time.

HUGE thanks go out to you all for helping me get out of that comfort zone I've become so accustomed to and a truly fantastic time.

Here's to many more adventures and having that jar overflowing. In the words of Austin Powers....YEAH BABY YEAH!!
