News filtered through to me sometime ago a good mate of mine, with 25years experiance windsurfing ,surfing ,sailing, got boosted and slammed into a fence lifted 50m into the air, then went up and over a house,to end up in the seacliff car park.

I recently called through Adelaide and caught up,reliving and visiting Brighton Seacliff with a few pale ales in the car park.

I then had it explained to me blow by blow.No **** over a two story house after being slammed on this fence.

sw stormies are side on shore and blow hard with hell rain squalls hail etcetc.

He had been out in 20-30 but squalls to 45 experiance told him to get the kite down and let it blow through,no worries at alls, cool.

He had pleanty of time SO HE THROUGH,at least 10 min before it hit hard, watching the water told him so.

The kite was all but down in a mates hands when with out warning it lit up.

The point here is, what can happen before the actual squall hits fully in the upper atmosphere MUST be considered.

ive seen crew at dutchies in similar conditions, what with the cliff line so close etc
Does this freek the stability of some kites out

GOOD TO SEE YAH AGAIN SAGAN

PS hasnt slowed his passion for kiting .HO no major injury

yeah, i was out that day at the same spot and left just before the incident. Hes very lucky. hes a big boy aswell, so the gust had to be fairly strong. we had another similar incident on an onshore westerly day where another Mike went over the road at Henley Beach. Its those gusty westerly days which cause most ****e. The adelaide coastline is similar to perth coastline so they get the same winds and probs with onshores.
