we're nearing the start of the season and allready your giving ammo to the clubbies, snakeing through the swimmers in front of the surf club 5-10 metres offshore can only mean you must be deaf, dumb & complete c--kheads,

Hey walks,
whilst the fever is hot in you for the choppers riding through the no go zone, maybe post a link to the map showing GO/NO GO for noobs (and nongs) referance?

Every season it's the same, the nongs come out to play in ever increasing numbers. Darwinism can only take care of so many.. ping the map and fingers crossed ey?

hey, these guys sound familiar...

I tried to pull up some kiters last season for kiting the shore line (when there was swimmers, clubbies, beach volleyball) between the 2 groins at city beach. They basically ignored me and kept on going - wtf? There was three of them this time - 2 on RRD Religions and 1 with a F-one Bandit just like you described.

Theyre probably about 40yrs old, give or take a few years. I saw them a few times last season doing downwinders, either 2 or 3 of them...being morons

Defiantly a great day, so good to see all the old faces from 10 years ago, even saw someone with a Peter Lynn Arc, now that take's me back. Watch out though some cars were broken into in the car park.

Seen a few posts over the years regarding such a situation and if left to run can get outahand. This is because we get quite emotional (generally angry) when our local spot is compromised by individuals who play chicken with swimmers.

I suggest, now that everyone is alerted, next time this happens go and have a constructive word with them. Calmy explain the situation to them, don't react if they react, then let them know you are contacting aka to work with the club and other official channels.

As much as you want to rant and rave, even take a knife to their kites, this will only damage the perception of the sport even more.

Work together, work calm, work smart.

My two bobs worth, but their is always some hypocrisy in whatever one says, as if i saw someone doing that at my local I'd wanna wring their neck, literally! But what purpose would that serve...

pffft whatever, if you were swimming today you probably would've drowned anyway, why does it matter if it's a kiter that hits you, it's the same outcome as what would've happened.

wishy you normally post some great stuff, but ya dropped the ball with this one. While I agree that certain conditions it amazes me people are swimming it doesn't matter. Hit a swimmer and the curtain could easily close, especially if they are a person of 'influence' or a relative at least.

There was 4 teenagers playing in the shallows north of the surf club around 3pm yesterday.

Just south of the yellow marker on the beach.

This gets me thinking......say if they were swimming where everyone launches and lands from. Are kiters actively telling swimmers to shove off down to the surf club?

Or is it swim at own risk?

Hi Underoath,

The swimmers can go anywhere they want. Kiters do not have exclusive rights to any part of the beach. Kiters are hanging on to what little is left of the beach at Mullaloo by the skin of their teeth. We, as a group, are definitely on the back foot.

Stakeholders get an email EVERY month about how many reported incidents hppen in the kite exclusion zones.

Make NO MISTAKE, the opposition is watching the area like a hawk and they have speedialed the number of council to complain about kiters.

Kiters do not have it in the bag, they are going to vote on it again at the end of the evaluation period (which was extended). Council still need to vote on whether to keep kiting at Mullaz or to ban it entirely.

It is CRITICAL that ALL kiters obey the rules, no one can afford to slip up or what little is available to kiters will be LOST FOREVER.

Please behave and inform others who don't know. People are ALWAYS watching and even small slipups are duly noted and reported into a file that will be used AGAINST us at the inevitable vote by council.

Ball's in our court ....

If you had a brain you would notice this was addressed to yesterday.
And IMO i would rather get slammed by a wave than get sliced by a gutless idiot who would probably be too much of a coward to admit that he was in the wrong.

Steady eddy, lets be constructive. As angry as it makes me (I grew up in connolly/ocean reef, learnt at pinnas, surfed and kited at mullas), let's not get vindictive, keep the language neutral as possible.

But I do understand your anger.

I windsurf at mullaloo a lot, and usually by myself. I have absolutely no problems with kiters as I used to kite a lot. I have seen 2 instances in the last week where kiters have been kiting out of the kite surf zone to the north, by about 200-300 meters. On each occasion a walker(who I know sails but was just walking that day) pointed towards the zone to the kiters playing in the shore break, twice on separate days they have been given the finger. If that was a councilor, surf clubbie, ranger.... I am sure that would add plently of fuel to the fire. Makes you wonder how many times they are doing that every session as they didn't know who this walker was from anyone. Then the other day, I saw 3 guys setting up, about 300 meters north. I politely said to them that I personally have no problems with them as I kite as well up at pinneroo, but the signs down the beach say no kiting up here, the response I got was, its ok, we just launching from here. I said that the kiters down there will be pretty annoyed as they fault hard to get that little patch, the response to that was just a shrug, and its ok we just doing a down winder, to which they just carried on laying lines out and walked off.

So good luck there mullaloo kiters sounds like a few will spoil the party for the rest of you doing the right thing.

The start of the season is just around the corner & in light of this post, it's an appropriate time to remind all kiters of the launch/landing zone at Mullaloo Beach.

Please refer to this link if you need more information & follow the signs along that stretch of coast about where to (and where not to) launch/land.

Local kiters and WAKSA fought long & hard to keep access open. It will be tragic if the beach is lost due to a minority who ignore local advice and issues.

Hey I had glossed over the white/brown B3 referance..

However I now remember a white/brown B3 idiot with decent skillz (if not a brain) and a more nooby guy in tow (Best Waroo) doing metro DWinders 2-3 times late in the season last year.

They were acting the total orshool in the no-go City Beach areas (main beach - between the groins). Riding right up to swimmers in the shallows and very close to flags too.

Total @rsebandit bahaviour!

Rode in as far as I dared and signalled in no uncertain terms to fark off outta there. [}:)]

Zero response and no change to their act.

I had to head back out in the end so clubbies didn't think there were 3 kites acting the selfish coont.

Pizzes me off when experienced riders act this way and Darren is 100% correct is his assessment.

If you call the water police, will they respond and or take any action without the help of the SLSC. If not what are we supposed to do so the clubs know it's the d'''heads and not the regular kiters.
Are the local clubs maned at this time of year .

Don't be fooled by the WAKSA hype. ^^^
They like to make you believe that they actually save beaches.
lol.
They don't.
All they have succeeded in doing in the past is give away precious beach real estate.
When the natives get angry,
waska goes belly-up, rolls over and plays dead.
The people who really care about kite beaches are the hard-core locals.
Committed locals will always look after their own patch.
Remain true to the tribe.
And lastly,
Ban the word 'BAN'.
The only crew who seem to use this word is WAKSA.
