Gday all, just wondering if anyone has any idea about kiting in the Maldives in August? Cheers

ive been there in december and it was supposed to be the windiest month of the year.
but i was not even once kitesurfing with my 16m. damn

I was there in January. There for a week and kited once. It was a couple of years ago and I was on borrowed gear. Certainly wasn't much wind. Take your snorkel!

I've been there a few times. August is as good a time as any for wind, but it may come with rain.
Feb, March are best for diving as usually super flat water (no wind)
The opposite should be true in Aug. I was there once, and got one week of huge wind, but not really what you'd call nice weather, followed by a week of sun and light wind.
The reality is that it is too equitorial to be a reliable spot for wind.

But the islands are fantastic, so its worth a trip. Just take diving gear and a girl for back up.
