Shame about the rain, but what a great area to kite.
Why did they have to drain the lagoon? It was good but could have been much better with a bit more water.
Was there with a group of 18 of us from Sydney area and pretty sure everyone enjoyed themselves, especially those that did a downwinder on Friday when the wind was up to 25. Partys were fine but maybe show some more kite vids on the backscreen during the evening.
I belive the older format was what a lot of kiters liked where there were no heats, just free ride with the judges moving around the areas to note who they liked and gave points to over the 4 days. The heats make it a bit more intimidating for those that have not competed much in the past.
Over all I give the comp an 8 and the winds a 6.

This was only my second year. If they are going to run heats what makes this any different from any other contest? And the preso seemed to lack its usual humour with the absence of Craig, anyway still a wicked weekend.
