Hi Folks

Whats the official line with the council about Maroubra now?

I notice the NSWKBA site still has the following advice -
Is this still the case or is there a ban there now?
Cheers

Only 3 kites in the air at one time, ALL kiters MUST check in with the Beach Inspectors BEFORE kiting

Kitesurfers and their equipment, including kites and lines, must maintain a minimum distance of 30m from any persons or objects in the water at all times.

Stay out of a designated surf zone. A designated surf zone is defined as the area extending 500 metres out from shore between surf patrol flags or signs.

Stay out of a swimming area, which is defined as the area extending 60 metre out from shore between signs for swimmers.

You must display a current NSWKBA/AKSA harness tag to indicate insurance to beach inspectors, IKO or any other insurance is NOT acceptable
If the waves are good and lots of surfers in the water,DON'T kite!
RESPECT the locals, they have worked hard with local authorities to avoid a ban, follow their advice

OBEY THE DIRECTIONS OF THE BEACH INSPECTORS THEY ARE WORKING WITH KITERS TO KEEP THIS BEACH OPEN AS THERE IS CURRENTLY DISCUSSION OF NOT PERMITTING KITING AT MAROUBRA BEACH. THIS COULD SET A PRECEDENT FOR OTHER COUNCILS TO IMPOSE RESTRICTIONS ON KITING.
