I have 2 x 40' long inflatable sliders, you could and can join then and make one humungous 80' long slider.

www.seabreeze.com.au/gallery/gallery.asp?imageid=1729

We have 2 of these sliders, they are 40 feet long. They are made out of similar material as a zodiac boat, the pipes on top are PVC, there are 2 pipes parallel to each other.
Pipes on top are in 6 feet long sections, one of those sections is missing in action, but would be easy to make.
$1800 for both or $1200 for the complete unit and $1000 for the one that is missing one section of slider tube.
One is brand new never used, that is the $1200 unit, the other has been used 3 times.

Make me an offer?

Well at least as big as the big one in autofocus...

Can't wait, whens construction start...

might draw up a few ideas...

should we have a gap?

if we make it a decent size it will be a bastard to transport.. maybe we shopuld see if we can arrange something with the sailing club or something... just during construction that is. If we build it with good stuff it should last alright in the water.

Do we have any contacts in the wood industry?

I don't want to do camel toe shape tho, the less kinks the better. I would like to do a nice dragon tail one, toby was talking about an A frame similar to autofocus.

dont get carried away kiddo u cant make it with 3-4 people
unless u are covering most cost's will be about $500 lots of work... and every one that might want to help out might not want a camel toe or draggon tail... so sllowww down. and a frame is the only way to go:P

I fail to see how the cat is gonna work. I was thinking 3 m tall, 2m off the water. 60ft long dragon tail, with the end of the tail 3m off the water

some 1 make a good proposal 4 this and u might get real interest from a decent number of people. then approach businesses that could place advertising on it and help conciderably towards the materials cost.

talk to mUTHA about a nice 3d representation of it and im sure SOS or choice (just examples) might b generous

if you speak to mad wayne (vert) he makes poly pipe for a living and kites at woodies, he got us all the pipe for the kicker,(the yellow one in the dunes at wooies) for a carton of crownies. also know someone that can get poly in sheets. same as poly pipe but in a flat form(bout 3mm thick) so you can leave small fins in. got a sheet 1.5m by 3m long for less than $80at trade, and costs over $400 at bunnings, which will do a whole kicker. and for a slider if you make the whole slider out of poly pipe(not pvc) then it wont rust and you will get at leasd a year out of it. more than keen to help biuld permanent kickers and slidersfor woodies over a few beers if other crew are.

heres an offer... make good with the goods and I am sure the guys will allow you to put your name on the side Out of your generosity in promoting kiting (particularly in WA) as well as in the spirit of customer relations this shouldn't be a problem

Well i would like something bigger than steves one. Good thinkng ryland, i havent actually got to hit the kicker in the dunes yet, would it be worth building another one that we could hit with fins on? a nice big A frame or dragon tail would be nice. 2m off the water isnt too high. I think we should try and get a permanent spot in the slick near the wall, theres never any public using the area really from what i have seen. Its upwind and pretty much out of the way aswell. Nobody can really be screwed setting up a slider every day and if we couldget it permanent or semi permanent it would be a big plus.

Are any shops interested in supporting this venture? Whats the consensus so far about what shape to make? A Frame? Dragon Tail? Camel Toe?

but the average kiter prob wont want to hit a slider as will trash the resale value of boards:P some one in perth i think its brownee already has an inflatable so lets do somthing new.. and tom we cant leave it there because if some little kid decided to use it a slide and breaks any thing the council will be in deep s*** and then that will be then redirected at us so prob not a good idea unless we had signs ect... which i cant see happening and the pvc ones dont take tooo long to put in place but any big slider isnt somthing that you really decide to put out 5 mins before u go out u plan it the day before get it out there before the wind kind of thing so its more of a whole day thing... and if a random kiter decided to have a crack and hurt him self could get a sour about it or even if a gimp ran into it.. lots to think about if u where leaving it out there over the long term!
