Cheers surfingboye.

The camera is a Panasonic HC-500 (HD camera) that I bought 1 month ago from JB Hifi for $400 odd. Originally I started recording on my old camera which is 7yrs old, and didn't even realise is was only digital and not HD. I watched the footage and thought ohh that looks terrible, so I bought a new camera and started again. I put those 2 tricks from the old camera coz I thought they looked alright.

Technology hay!

Got a better response here than on the Scoop.

Haven't seen it yet, video streaming blockers in this internet backwater.

Great Stuff!

Did you enter the comp on the w.e?

I thought you have to have the Kite lower for wake style, low so there is absolutely no pop coming from the Kite (similar to the pull wakeboarding), and use the waves as your primary pop for the trick. Is that correct?

@Hayden

The kite is going to be the pull whether or not it's in the flats or off of a kicker.... How do you figure you can get off the water let alone ride without the kite? But yes the kite should be low.

@Drury

Of course there is always pull from the kite but if you sit the kite a meter off the water there's no vertical pull and complete horizontal pull. Similar to wakeboarding. If you have it at 45 degrees then you have equal vertical and horizontal pull.

Kungas is still one of my favourite riders to watch, what you see in the video is proble a tenth of what this guy is capable of and at thirty five still gets better every year and those who know him or have seen him ride will agree.

To answer your original question. Wakestyle is not just having your kite nearly in the water and going off of chop/kickers it is performing any wakeboarding move (ie. Slim, Mobe, KGB, Front to blind etc.) either off of flat water with your kite low or off of kickers.

Have you been to a cable park? You can get some insane pop off flat water!

Can we confirm that is not a c-kite. so really, you don't NEED a c-kite to pull those moves.

The Wainman's are Delta SLE (not C Kites) and in my opinion work great. I tune mine so it turns slow.
Any kite that works well unhooked can be used for wakestyle or freestyle. Some kites work better than others, but that's also a matter of personal preference. Lots of people have been doing unhooked tricks on Cab switchblades for years, and they are a true bow profile, but very different to a crossbow which is also a bow but not designed for unhooked riding.
C kites continue to be awesome for unhooking and there is no doubt some C's are way better than others.
