Calling for expressions of interest

When: Sat 12th Feb

Would anyone like to join in for a big weekend of kiting followed by a beer or three and dinner at the pub!

I'm heading up Sat morning and coming back Sunday arvo.

Accommodation Suggestion: 1 bedroom chalets opposite the pub, which are $65 per night. Upstairs chalets have a loft and sleep about 5 people. All have own kitchen and bathroom.

dunno if u were being sarcastic or not mike, but wasnt there a thread a coupla weeks back about being banned in lancelin?

last time i was there the windsurfers had taken the place over, and space monkeys were banished to the north and south extremities...

of course the windsurf classic was going on...

Yep I'm in Paul but can anyone confirm or deny the alleged kiting bans in Lano. I searched the forum but couldn't find any relevant threads.

I reckon if there's any probs we can head down to back beach or up to Wedge, I'm sure we'll find a spot.

no....

one of those rare occassions i am serious.
I thought we are banned in all but the wave spots on the reefs.
I was told the only place for kiters is in front of the tavern....dunno how reliable that is??

There were signs posted around the Yatch club (or whatever it is) last weekend that spelled out safety rules for kiters.. 30 m downwind safety zone when lanching and landing and 50m safety zone for jumping... It then went on to say that due to the safety buffers launching from the lawn area was inappropriate. Think it may have been been signed by the Gingin shire but I'm not to sure about that. There were kiters everywhere all the same... including on the lawn area[}:)].. The south point seemed the most popular and is where we were launcing from. Lots of room for everyone

isn't the kn idea of going up to Lano is to avoid the crowds of Melville?

seems you want the kn crowds to come with you!!!

OMG ... tell me she didnt really say that

KIM ... I thought you just said you only went one way
And here I was - just going to reply to Pauls post saying it was just as well he said 'chics' not just 'backpackers' or we would have had Kim leaving Steve behind
Way too slow here huh - on both counts

lancelin...i kite there a bit and as of last saturday we weren't banned.they don't like you launching on the grass.no one to control it. but do it all the time.just BE CAREFULL as really gusty in southerly's.allways get someone to land you on the grass and if not go up to the point.
